I remember watching a British made-for-TV film (or short series?) as a child in the early 1980s that featured a doctor or scientist in the early part of the 20th Century, who imprisons a woman, possibly his new wife, in their mansion and slowly poisons her to death... eventually he is arrested and found guilty - but for a different crime. I distinctly remember him shouting "I didn't do it!" as he is led away before the credits rolled. Does anyone know what it was called?
