I watched this movie or mini series c. 2007. It was set in early 20th century in England. The main character was a young woman that worked in a sweets shop, I believe. She had a sweetheart and they eventually marry. Eventually WWI comes along and I can't remember much of the plot. All I know is that she ends up with her brother's husband and they couldn't legalize their union until much later.
