A film I saw in France in the 60's but it could have been translated from English. It took place in India where two teenagers were in love with each other. They swore their undying love and he gives her a ring while saying: "In an apple orchard, two children were in love". Then, they find themselves separated and he searches for her everywhere. There is a scene where he hides in a large laundry basket which is going to be delivered to his sweetheart's bedroom.
