It was a black and white film I believe a 50s film about a male houseguest who lives with a married couple and the houseguest discovers that the husband is either trying to commit his wife and/or kill her for her money, and is trying to protect her and I think falls in love with her. The houseguest I thought was Emfrem Zimbalist, Jr., but I cannot find that he made such a movie. I don't recall the female main character nor the actors who played the husband and girlfriend of husband. Does anyone recall?
