I remember tv series (probably bbc) I believe from 90. I catch just last two parts (of six?? not sure). About mining (?) family. The oldest son was brave, intelligent and in love with rich girl (daughter or niece of the mine owner). His younger brother jealous on him. He provoke the death of their younger brother / sister and one beautiful girl by chasing her. They drowned. Then the younger brother made pregnant one handicapped girl and make everyone believe that the father is his older brother. When the older brother finally resolved who is the father, almost killed him.
The drama ends with "happy" end, when rich girl renounce richness and come to live in the miners colony.
