So, this may be an obscure one. Looking for the title of a TV movies from the late 80s, early 90s. It's set in the pre Civil War south and follows two men, one a white man who is opposed to slavery, the other a black slave (possibly his, but I don't remember) and their friendship. They decide to escape north together, and through a series of events that I don't entirely remember end up on a plantation together posing as a traveling master and slave. While there, the white man falls in love with a slave woman, which eventually leads to the woman being beaten and the friends exposed. They smuggle the woman out disguised in white makeup, make a break for it themselves, but I'm pretty sure the woman dies. I saw this when I was a kid and it's always stuck with me, but I have no idea what the title was or who any of the actors were. It might be awful, but I just have to know! :-) Any thoughts?
