I recently watched this movie, but I don't know how old it is. I believe it's set in the 1800's in England. The manor owner is a British naval officer. He is married and has a young daughter who is blind. He and his family are wealthy. One time when he returns home he brings home a little black boy, who becomes friends with the blind white girl. Late in the movie the mother is hosting a party and somehow the house catches on fire. The blind girl is trapped in her room. The black boy climbs into the house through a chimney and rescues her.
