i'm looking for a movie a saw on TCM. The plot is a very poor Chinese man marries a woman and they live on a farm. He is a hard worker buy she is smart.The land has a famine and they move , with the father in law to the city where war threatens their lives. The wife almost dies but manages to steal a handful of jewelry and they move back home where they build an empire.
