Title Help

Hi there,
I hope anybody can help me. About 15 years ago I watched a film set in Wales. It starts with a very old woman in hospital remembering her life, of how she lost her husband to a mining accident, has to move houses with her children, later gets raped by soldiers and goes to Austria to undergo treatment. It's all set around late 1800's and early 1900's. Can anybody help with the title please???
