Asian Drama, aired in the late 1980's with subtitles in Australia on SBS.
It was a period drama that was about the royal court and concubines. A young girl is taken from her village and given a job in the court, but because she is beautiful she is accepted into the concubines quater where the prince takes an interest in her. The older ladies train her to be part of the court and the last few episodes she marries the prince who becomes emperor. Finally she returns home to her village as empress where she reunites with her family. Vague I know but I was young and reading the sub-titles was hard. I do remember the costumes were amazing as was the scenery. Music also was haunting. Thank you in advance if u can help.
