No...that's not the one. This one was an American GIRL and and American born Japanese boy and they were in their teens when Pearl Harbor was attacked. The one you mentioned is about a younger Japanese American girl and her family was the focus of the story. The one I saw was more centered on the American family and the war. And I think it was filmed maybe in the fifties.
