I watched this British period drama aimed at children on the ABC when I was growing up in Australia in the 1980s. It focused on the lives of 2 boys (one working class and one from the aristocracy) and their friendship. Each series focused on their (or actually their descendants') lives in a particular age eg Elizabethan age up to WW1. I have been racking my brains for ages over this. I would really love to know the name.
