It sure sounds like the same plot but, unfortunately not the same movie. Thanks for your help. The actor that played the man(estate owner)was handsome. I keep thinking it was Patrick Bergen but, I can't find him making any such movie. The girl was blond. The odd son had black hair and pale white skin. I can't remember where the girl went off to live when she was a child but, as she got older the old wife found her and kept her close to keep an eye on her and the secret. while the girl was sleeping the old wife had her odd son sneak into the room and kill her but somehow this didn't happen.
