Hi! Looked everywhere and cannot for the life of me find this movie (saw it as a child and can,t remember any actors nor in which language but thinking English): period drama where a aristocratic (I think) woman and lower class man have an affair. The women later has an affair with a woman (her lady in waiting or something like that?), the lover kills herself in a lake by sewing rocks into her dress. The film ends with the daughter (red headed I think) of the woman and man’s affair somehow meeting the man when the girls like 7-8 years old. He cuts off a lock of her hair and gives her a letter to give to the woman he had the affair with but when the girl goes running over a field with other kids (her cousins?) she drops the letter and thus it is never given to the woman. Rings any bells? Have been looking for YEARS! Hope someone knows which film I’m talking about :)
