I just remember the end of this old film: two boys who used to quarrel drown in the sea (one of them trying to save the other, after falling from a cliff). The mother of one of the boys is waiting for him, she receives a letter notifying her the dead of his son, but she doesn't read the letter and throws it into the fireplace.
