This movie is a period piece and an Asian film, I want to say Chinese but it may be Japanese. A woman is married and lives in her own quarters (she may be a concubine) but she had a lover from her home town who was determined to be with her and began to work as her groundskeeper or simply the help as he continues to make advances she avoids him. She eventually pulls him into her room to make love to him and then sends him out. He may have lost a limb/fingers as punishment. The end scene is them with flower petals falling around their heads and probably during winter. Please let me know if you know this title!
