I’m no movie buff & can’t remember the titles for half the films I’ve enjoyed over the years, but I was hooked on this type of film from the very first 1 I watched :)
There was loads of this genre about in the 80’s, 90’s & beyond, I Absolutely loved watching them when I was younger, they also did loads of B Movies, some of them were very good, sadly b rated don’t tend to get mentioned very much years down the road :(
Try some of these titles, you never know, it might just flick a bulb on, usually @ 3am :D
Sahara - Dirk Pitt Series (mainly books)
The Jewel of the Nile (1985)
Loads of Librarian Films I.e The Librarian III: The Curse of the Judas Chalice (2008)
King Solomon’s Mine - Allan Quartermaine Series
Fool's Gold
MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis
I’d try looking at images of Jaime Lee Curtis & Melanie Griffith, they were often in films like these around that time
