What is the name of the movie:
I watched the movie 15/16 years ago on German TV but cannot remember the name. The movie can be from the 70s or 80s or even maybe 90s but the story is maybe from the 18th or 19th century. I do not remember any actors' name or director's name or which country produced the film but was not a German movie.
I only remember a few things such as:
A teenage girl (brought from a poor place) is forced to get married to a much older man with a beard (some kind of strong landlord who is a very powerful man and has gun and horse etc.). The girl is prepared for the marriage by nun-looking women. Of course, she does not want to sleep with the man.......She then starts an affair with a man (the man most probably works in ships) she meets in the market (maybe, I do not remember exactly) and they used to have sex in his one-room place. They fall in love. They plan to escape on a ship but no ship leaves from that port until a certain time. In the meantime, her husband finds out about the affair and about the fact that they are planning to run away .... On the day they run away, the husband chases them on a horse along the seashore and shot the lover (who was escaping by riding a horse) with his gun and killed him and brought the girl home. The husband has forceful sex with her and at the end of the movie, it is shown that she gives birth to a child.....
I would really like to watch that movie again. Can anyone tell me the name, please?
