There was a very indie film released in late 90’s early 2000’s that was set in more modern day but there is a catch that is period related. A young kid gets a job at a newspaper and falls in love with a girl and she somehow gets kidnapped by a mob boss. He goes after her to save her. The really original thing about the film is that all the speech is in 1940’s slang. So it’s these young Italian looking kids in more modern life in a big city and speaking all in 40’s slang. Or at least the main character does. I can’t remember. Dying to know the name. Anyone?
