I saw this mini series on tv in Canada in the early 1990's. The story starts just before WW2, Husband goes off to war, Germans move into their estate, in France, wife developed a relationship with the German officer, not sexual. Husband comes back injured from war, time goes on , husband dies, the German officer comes back in her life for a brief visit, there are more story lines as well in this series. Can anyone help, think it was based on a book.
