The Perfect Mother (1997) with Tyne Daly. She's Greek, actually, and tries to kill her DIL, Ione Skye, by serving her food with peanut oil knowing she has a severe peanut allergy. Based on a true story of Serbian/Canadian murderer, Jelka Pesic. In real life she had the DIL killed. I can't remember if she actually died in the fictional movie.
