Trying to find a British film about a British woman in the early 20th century who marries a British officer, is posted to China, has an affair with a Japanese officer then moves to Japan when her husband divorces her. The Japanese officer keeps her as his mistress but takes their child away from her and gives it away for adoption. She spends years searching for her son while becoming very well known in fashion, working in Japanese department stores. She finds her son at the end of the movie as she is being evacuated due to the onset of WWII.
