I think the program was on the BBC. It is set after War II about a mysterious nurse in her 30's who leaves Great Britain. She goes to Australia to work in a small town with a prominent wealthy family that controls everything. She is blonde and the town discovers she is Jewish. The matriarch of the wealthy family is a busybody and gossip who caused her to think of leaving. It played earlier this year.
