I'm trying to look up a movie that is from 2006 0r 2007 but set in the 17th or 18th century. It's a family movie that aired around Christmas 4 or 5 years ago. I don't remember which channel it came on but it was a certain family channel(but definitely NOT ABC Family).
It's about a girl between the age of 12-15 who runs away from home and hides out at an all girls private boarding school. She is discovered in the attic by one of the nicer rich girls who brings her food every day.
Turns out the runaway comes from a poor family and wants to be a journalist. However, being that her family is poor and she has a ton of brothers and sisters her parents cannot afford to send her to the private school.
One of the older not so nice rich girls finds out about her and threatens to let the Principal know about the girl being at the school illegally and about the other girls helping her hide there.
It's somewhat like 'The Little Princess'(Shirley Temple-1939) with a slightly different plot.
