I remember my mum watching a period drama (could have been a film or a TV series) when I was a kid. To think of it now it's probably a Catherine Cookson one or similar, all I can remember is that the people of the village beat up and tie up a man (I'm guessing the main character) and put him on a horse and they send the horse off and he's found by a woman. Not much to go on I know! Sound familiar?
