Okay so this is a TV show, most likely BBC but it could be ITV. Most likely post 2006 but no later than 2013.
It was set during a war, and i think it followed some sisters?
Two scenes I remember well (most likely because these are major shock factors in the series). 1) A man tries to kill himself with fumes from an oven, it cuts to a scene in which two other characters have a conversation saying that they both gave him the money (?) to get the fuel, then they realise what he might be doing.
2) One of the girls gets married, and when they get to their new house, they go to have sex but it's then revealed the husband has no genitals - war wound?
I'm sorry this is all really vague but I've tried to find it for the past hour to no avail.
