I'm looking for what I think is a British film set in the 19th century and probably released in the 60s, 70s or maybe the 80s.
It's about an Englishman who's the boss of a British enclave somewhere in East Asia. It comes with a title in the local language, which I think was the name of the movie I was looking for. In the beginning of the movie his son arrives on a ship from England. Cause the rest of the family just died of disease. The entire film is about grudges and an eternal power struggle in the enclave. By the end the father dies too, and the son becomes the new *insert movie name I'm looking for*.
