Title Help

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of a British mini-series that aired in the late 90s - early 2000s (most likely between 1998 and 2002). Mini-series (3 or 4 episodes) was based on a poor girl living in a still some what industrial city in England in the early 1900s who gets accepted to train as a nurse. Her parents disapprove and want her to marry one of the men who works at the factory with her father. She defies them and goes to the hospital to train to be a nurse/sister. Typically she ends up falling in love with the rich young and handsome doctor. They fall in love but the class system of the day, namely their parents tries to split them up. She ends up getting pregnant but he doesn't find out because his parents lie to him about her telling them she didn't want to see him or something. There's a scene where she's preparing a gin bath (home abortion remedy) but doesn't go through with it. I can't remember the title or if it has a happy ending.
