Black and white film about a young couple - hubby came from an affluent family and his mother did not approve of the young wife. The young couple lived in small apartment and the mother in law came to stay with them when they had a baby. The young wife is trying to win over the mother in law and the mother in law is trying to get rid of her son's wife so she can continue to control her son. There is a hilarious "ironing scene" and an argument how to make slaw between the mother in law and the young wife. The husband was moving up in the corporate world and his mom thought the wife was holding her son back. They are on the verge of divorce but the husband finds the strength to stand up to his mother. Very romantic story. Sorry, not giving great details here.....I was young when I saw it and I want to watch it again.
