Title Help

In reply to:

I remember a few years ago watching a WWII film in history class. It was black and white and probably made in the 40's-50's time period. It was set in England. All I really remember is at the end of the movie a young soldier, who has either just gotten married or proposed to his girlfriend, gets called back to fight. The girlfriend is driving home with her mother-in-law when an air raid occurs, killing the girl when they wreck the car. I remember my history teacher saying the point of the movie was to show that it was oftentimes civilians ( the girl) who were killed in war, not just the soldiers because in the movie it is the girl who dies and not her husband/fiancee. Please comment if you know! I would really appreciate it!
