Some years ago I saw a film maybe made in the 1990's or 80's, it was about a lonely old man sitting in his house near the fireplace in a winter night and somehow he had flashbacks seeing himself in the past with his girlfriend and I remember this part that his girlfriend was upset with him, but he didn't go towards her because of his pride and the old man was in the scene but nobody could see him and the old man was shouting "go after her!" but the young boy which was him didn't and he eventually ended up being lonely..... anyone know the name? ... and I think the fim was european
