i watched the mini series a long time ago, the story is about a young lady living with her father or grandfather.. she's being helped by a man whom she loves silently. the man is about to get married and in church he leaves his bride because someone tells him that a bad guy is going to rape this girl. he and a nobleman end up saving this girl from being raped. the bad guy starts a rumor that this girl is a witch .. everyone starts treating her badly ,, she then begins working for the nobleman who helped saving her.. the nobleman owns a mine and he ends up getting hurt and paralyzed when the mine collapses ... the series is old i think maybe was made in the 90s i think its bbc production .. I've been looking for it for years
