Title Help

I'm struggling to find the name of a film/TV series I caught a bit of on TV about 10 years ago.
I only have one memorable scene to go off, but hopefully one of you lovely people will recognise it :)
It was set in roughly 18th century France (if the clothing and powder wigs were anything to go by) and was centred around French aristocracy/nobility. I'm pretty sure it was a French language film, but it could've just been that scene.
In the scene, a woman is mocking a man, which is making him angry, so he grabs her by the hair, throws her to the ground and rapes her.
Now I could be completely wrong, but I got the impression that the man was an important figure (King, Prince, Duke, etc...), and I'm pretty sure that the woman was his sister or half-sister.
I'm sorry it all sounds a bit vague, but it's all I have to go on and I've been trying to find it for years, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
