The movie is in color, set in WW2.
I believe it has something to do with the dutch famine, and it has a woman who is caring for 2 kids, a boy and a girl. The boy is sick and there isn't enough food. At some point, probably near the end the woman has a chance to escape. Proabably because she is a journalist of some sort... But she can only choose 1 child. She takes the girl with her and leaves the sick boy behind. When she meets up to escape though, she gives the girl to her friend and goes back for the boy. At the end of the movie it says they both survived.
I don't remember how long ago I watched this. Please help!!
