I'm looking for the name of a movie from the 40's or 50's. The version I remember was in black and white. I also think the movie was produced to follow a book written about the same. It was set in old England in the late 1800's about children in an orphanage. The scene that stands out is when one child, the lead role, dares to ask for a second bowl of porridge. It also had some prominent actors of their time cast in it.
