I saw a TV movie in either the late 50's or 60's. It was about a woman (I think Elizabth Montgomery but I am not sure) who loses her job and tries desperately to care for her young daughter.There are some haunting scenes such as in a housing project where the kitchen is over run with rats and when she complains she is thrown out, a shelter where a pervert tries to touch her little girl. Finally, at wit's end, having no money or place to sleep, a social worker arranges to have her leave her child in a park and has her picked up and taken into care. She watches the pick-up from across the street. Just before this happens, she had used what little money she had to buy her daughter a necklace for a remembrance.
