I looking a short video I saw on PBS in the 70's in which a henpecked man who had no friends, escapes from his wife by walking the dog. He see's the attention a blind man gets in a local park and decides to pretend to be blind while walking his dog. The runs away and he doesn't want his new found friends to know where he lives. I believe its set in 1960's France.
