Hello, I am trying to recall movie I saw many years ago, its the life of a British soldier who in the early 1900s insults a German/Prussian officer and end up in a sword fight with him ending in a draw. ww1 happens and at its end they meet up again with the German being the prisoner. after some time they become friends again. some time passes till the late 30s when the German flees to England and with the help of the British officer who is his friend he is able to make it in and leave his Nazi family. the are still good friends and help with a combat training mission were the young cadet plays the same trick the older officer played. help find this good old gem. I thought Omar sherif was the German but I cant find the movie under movies he played in.
