I once watched a film about a young woman who came to America and ended up in California, I during the gold rush. Her parents sold her for money and throughout the whole movie she tries to make money to return home to China. I thought it was "5 Gold Coins" with Liam Neesom but can not find this under a search or in his list of movies. I watched this on PBS many years ago.
