an old TV show (in the 70th or 80th ?) about a young man (Irish?) taken into a family. He wins the heart of the Head of the Family by helping him in his business. He becomes rich by later marrying the daughter of the man who took him in and inheriting his fortune. He also is a very capable and ruthless businessman. He later has 2 sons and tries to leave his legacy to the older one to no avail. The show has 3-4 seasons. I remember a scene when the young man is on the train; he is poor, but full of hopes and ambitions.
