Title Help

For many years now I have been searching for the title of a black and white film or play about a young girl who is ill - I think with TB - and she is lying in this small room that has one window that looks out to a blank wall on which a vine with large leaves grows. As winter nears and the leaves start to fall she is convinced that when the last leaf falls she will die. All I remember is that an older man visits (he may be her Doctor) and when he finds out that is what she thinks he paints a leaf on the wall. She does not know this. When all the real leaves have fallen the girl I think gets better as she keeps seeing that the last leaf never falls.
