The girl was poor and I believe she was a red head. In the beginning she meets her employee who eventually picks her up and spanks her. He is in love with another women but the girl who works for him falls in love with him and he with her she has a child and then he goes through something where he looses his mind or goes broke. Sorry but it's an old movie.
