Title Help

I saw a movie numerous years ago and can't remember the title any help would be appreciated. I remember parts a poor family lives in the back hills mother father and numerous kids. The parents die and the daughter tries to keep the family togethe. They dig herbs and roots to sell and eat. I remember an older man wants to marry the girl. They had hillbilly type names (not being rude I'm a proud hillbilly). Any suggestions please.
