I'm so stuck on this search! I can see the actors in my mind, but I've looked through the teen idols boards of the 60s, 70s and 80s just trying to figure it out and I can't. The girl looked Diane Lane-ish, but it wasn't DL. The boy had brown hair and the trapper/frontiersman looked very much like Denver Pyle, but it wasn't him either. AARGH!
I wonder if it was a tv-miniseries instead of a movie?
