Help on finding a title of a period film

I have been trying to find out the title of a film a watched sometime last year. I cant really remember how it started all a remember was that there was a sweet brother and sister. The brother began working for a very pleasant old man, who took him under his wing. I think the company was do do with fabrics.
The brother does very well, and helps the business succeed

The brother falls in love with a woman who is associated with the old man, and whose father and herself i believe is living in a debtors prison in a poor state. They do not like accepting charity as they are proud people but the woman makes drawing or painting and sells them.

Much of the story is finding a hidden will or papers. Near the end the woman father dies and after some drama we find that she is actually very rich as a fortune had been bestowed to her. The woman also goes to live with the old mans family. We see the brother and the woman declaring their love for each other but the brother feels if he marries the woman now that it will dishonor the old man as it may seem that that he is just marrying her for her money.

So he stays away from her. The sister too falls in love with the son of the old man and too decides to stay away from him as she does not wont to dishonor all the help the have received from that family.

In the end the old man and his wife find out about the situation and encourage the brother and sister to marry the ones they love. The state that no one would be better for their son or woman. And all live happily ever after

With respect to the film you are looking for, parts of what you have described sound a bit like the plot of Little Dorrit, but this was a tv series and not a film. I will keep thinking and keep my eyes open for you. I'll let you know if I come up with anything!

The plotlines you describe are from Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens.

There's numerous adaptations, a favourite of mine being the 1950's Ealing Studios film.

this is how it was lady got lost in a desert with her infant child , she tries her best to survive it, then a lion attack her manage to climb a tree but she is injured and bleeding and uncouncious. she and her child was rescured by fugitive vagabonds wanted by the british , she and the child survived grateful for the leader of the vagabond , they fell in love.
one day she saw the leader mudered a few british officers in cold bloded (whom were looking for her bcoz she is someone important). in anger she argues and slap him and he rapes her. love turns to hate and she said she wants to leave him.

he contact british officer said in exchange for herand child, he and his man gets the pardon. and it was done. she never looked back.

arives home ,some one left her a land that has a cave containing dimond. which she put to got use . relise pregnant with the vagabond child . give birth to the child find him and give the child to him.

many years later lets say about 20 yrs

she and her son wealthy

son runs the mining step brother working in the mine. step brother and father plotting to steal some dimond form the mine.

both sons fall and fight for the same girl.

I'm afraid I can't think of the name of the film you are describing, as I don't think I have seen it. It sounds very emotional and dramatic! Hopefully some of the other forum members will know something.
